Next, cut a groove down the centre of each piece of wood. The depth of this groove should be about half an inch, depending on the diameter of your cigar holder.
Now take a drill bit that is slightly smaller than the diameter of your cigar holder and drill a hole in each end of your cigar holder so that you can insert a cork into each end.
Now comes the fun part: sanding! Sand down all sides until they are smooth and rounded (about 1/8" wide). You may also want to round off any sharp edges by hand with sandpaper or a file as well as rounding off any corners in order for them not to snag when you're putting it in your mouth or pulling it out again!
Now you're ready to stain or paint your new cigar holder however you please!
